About 2023 Academic Calendar

• The GES in collaboration with the Ministry of Education has released the Academic Year Calendar for Senior High School (SHS), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Basic Schools for the next academic year.

2023 Academic Calendar For Basic Schools

2023 Academic Calendar For JHS, Primary and KG 

•  JHS, Primary and KG will spend 14 weeks each for 1st and 2nd Terms while 3rd Term will be 12 weeks

Basic Schools 1st Term Reopening Date

• Basic Schools will resume on 10th January, 2023 and be in school up to 20th April, 2023.

Basic Schools 1st Term Vacation Date

• Vacation for 1st term starts from 21st April through to 1st May, 2023.

Basic Schools 2nd Term Reopening Date

• Basic Schools will resume on 2nd May, 2023 and be in school up to 9th August, 2023.

Basic Schools 2nd Term Vacation Date

• Vacation for the 2nd term will commence on10th August

Basic Schools 3rd Term Reopening Date

• Basic Schools will resume on 22nd August, 2023 and be in school up to 16th November, 2023.

Basic Schools 3rd Term Vacation Date

• Vacation for the 3rd term will commence from 17th November, 2023
