The Ghana Education Service (GES) and Ghana Health Service (GHS) has Released Joint Statement On SHS (Gold Track) Vacation. The statement reads as follows:
JOINT STATEMENT FROM GHANA EDUCATION SERVICE (GES) AND GHANA HEALTH SERVICE (GHS)
VACATION OF GOLD TRACK SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL FORM 2 STUDENTS
The President as part of his gradual easing of restrictions imposed on the country as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, ordered a partial opening of schools for final year and 2nd year Gold Track students to enable the final year students to prepare for their final examinations and for the 2nd year Gold track students to complete their first semester programme
The students reported to school on the 22nd of June 2020. By the grace of God, the 2nd year Gold students have gone through their programmes successfully and are due to return home on Friday 31st July 2020
Management of GES and GHS wishes to use the opportunity to thank and appreciate all staff of GES and GHS. Management is hugely indebted to you for your commitment. dedication and sacrifices in the interest of the students.
We also want to express our profound gratitude to Government for its support, especially H. E. the President for his resolve to see that the future of these children is not compromised by the outbreak of the coronavirus. For the 2nd year Gold students due to return home, the following guidelines should apply:
- Any school where no positive case of COVID-19 has been recorded, the students can vacate and go home.
- Any school that had a positive case but has not reported any new positive case within the last two weeks, the students can vacate and go home.
- Any school That had a positive case within the last two weeks, all contacts within the GOLD track will have their vacation delayed for assessment and observation before they can be allowed to go on vacation, and parents of such students will be notified.
Management of GES and GHS take the opportunity to urge the general public especially parents to continue to support our final year students with prayers as they continue with their final examinations.
