Nana Appiah Mensah (Nam1) Arrested Upon Touching Down
Chief Executive Officer Nana Appiah Mensah of Menzgold fame, has arrived in Accra via an Emirates Airlines flight but was immediately arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service at the Kotoka International Airport.
He will be interrogated by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in connection with fraud allegations levelled against him since 2018. He is currently at the CID headquarters.
The young Ghanaian businessman had been in the custody of Dubai authorities since December last year. He was when he left ghana to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to collect debt owed his company by his business partners there.
There had been court suits and counter suites between him and his business rivals of which he won two the court cases against his rival businessmen in Dubai.
Nana Appiah Mensah is being sought after by his aggrieved customers whose investments have been locked up with the company since August last year. His arrival seems like sigh of relief for his agrieved customers. Hopefully their locked up cash would be released.
An Interpol red alert has been on Nana Appiah Mensah for several months since his detention in Dubai.
The Supreme Court of Dubai recently upheld a victory of the businessman in a lower court which ordered his Emirati businessman rival to pay the Ghanaian some $39 million and a compensation.
CID Confirms Arrest
The PRO of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has confirmed arrest of Nana Appiah Mensah with the following statement during an interview.
The chief executive officer by name Nana Appiah Mensay is in the hands of the CID after an alert issued by the cidd to be handed over by Interpol Dubai to Interpol Ghana.
Somewhere last year we we were investigating circumstances that lead to issuance of warrant to arrest Nana Appiah Mensay. So as we have gotten him, we are putting it out to the general public.
Mr Nana Appiah Mensay is currently at the CID headquarters, assisting with investigations that started 2018.
Nana Appiah Mensah (Nam1) Denied Bail
Information reaching avenuegh.com is that embattled Menzgold Chief Executive, Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM 1) has been denied bail by the Ghanaian police shortly after they had picked him from the Kotoka International Airport.
Attempts by his lawyers to secure bail for him has been turned down by the police as he is being prepared for court tomorrow, Friday, July 12 2019.
