The Corporate Affairs Director of National Service Scheme, NSS, Mr Armstrong Esaah, has charged national service personnel to take advantage of their national service period to develop their human capacity and build a relevant network.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Director of NSS, at an orientation programme organized by the Wa Municipal NSS Directorate, he stressed on the need to do nationals service and highlighted some achievements of the current Management of NSS.
“The transformation we are experiencing today is all driven by the vision of Hon. Mustapha Ussif and his two able deputies Madam Gifty-Oware, Deputy Executive Director in charge of General Services and Kwaku Ohene Djan, Deputy Executive Director in charge of Operations who are poised to making life convenient for national service personnel,” he said.
“At the 2019 Inspirational Public Sector Leadership Award organized by IMANI Ghana, the online booking system introduced in 2017 placed National Service Scheme as the third most innovative public institution. This is just one of the many operational innovations introduced by the new management among others like online certificate request and delivery system, paperless registration, international national service and the NSS Global Practice Initiative” he added.
Mr Mark Abbey, the Upper West Regional Director of NSS, in his address took personnel through the rudiments of national service. He expatiated on the new features on the monthly assessment forms and charged them to fill and submit it on time for payment.
He further advised them to be punctual at work desist from all forms of criminal activities that may ruin their reputation and future career prospects.
Taking his turn to speak, Hon. Suleman Alhassan, the Wa Municipal Manager of NSS thanked the personnel for representing in their numbers for the all-important event.
He informed them of the impending National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) elections which are scheduled for November 2019. He charged those interested to pick nomination form campaign in moderation.
