Recruitment Of Project Engineer

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the engineering management of consultants engaged in the design associated with capital projects and sustaining capital projects.
  • Liaise with the mine operations management team to ensure implementation projects is aligned with operations.
  • Report project process on daily and weekly basis.
  • Monitor the quality control of direct contracted works as well as Engineering, Procurement Construction Management (EPCM) contracted works.
  • Direct consultants, contractors and suppliers to achieve safe project deliverables.
  • Process direct contracted progress claims.
  • Contribute towards the preparation of statutory reports and budget forecast.
  • Assemble scope of works and manage procurement process and contracting for direct managed work.
  • Support the development of financial expenditure systems to manage project costs.
  • Provide data for the development of comprehensive reports for senior management, joint venture partners and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate and contribute to safe practice and environmental awareness.

Recruitment Of Database and GIS Support

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the management of drill holes and surface geochemistry databases in SQL Server.
  • Assist with daily data extraction request from geologist.
  • Assist with in-house GED tools development and enhancement.
  • Support daily data loading and reporting of assay results.
  • Assist in training geologists in the use of new GED & GIS tools which are introduced.
  • Help generate both soft and hard copy geological maps using ArcGIS for all projects.
  • Help in the installation and troubleshooting of ArcMap related errors for geoscientists.
  • Maintain the integrity of critical Regional Exploration datasets and provide support and training to geoscience staff in GIS practice.
  • Implement and maintain robust data validation and quality standards.
  • Assure security of Newmont’s Geological datasets.
  • Oversee that all work carried out adheres to Health and Safety standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct daily meetings to discuss Health and Safety threats.
  • Identify and resolve safety issues within area of responsibility.

  • Act as a role model in complying with and supporting these standards and practices.
  • Liaise and work closely with Regional and Near Mine Exploration/Mining groups.
  • Keep consistent communication with Global GGG group on Database related system and procedure updates.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, hire, and lead the team responsible for Sustainability & External Relations, Operations, Business and Human Resources in  brownfield projects.
  • Ensure all project activities are conducted within a Newmont Health & Safety, Sustainability & External Relations, and Business culture and meet local regulatory requirements.
  • Support ongoing site activities from a business and Human Resource perspective so that project goals such as completing drilling programs are accomplished as planned.
  • Successfully execute interim infrastructure or other programs necessary for project advancement and ensure the stage gate scope of work for Sustainability & External Relations, Business, Human Resources and Operations is complete and also supports the future operability of the project.
  • Facilitate the appropriate participation in support for and ownership of the project by the Ahafo Business Unit to ensure the future success of the project.
  • Maintain positive community and government relations through open, honest and transparent interactions based on a good mutual understanding of Newmont’s and project stakeholder’s interests.
  • Retain and develop an operations team who are available and ready for operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage daily mining activity to achieve safe, efficient and optimal production focused on production targets and associated cost constraints by pursuing opportunities of continuous improvements.
  • Effectively interface with other departments and prime mining contractor in pursuit of mine site development and production goals.
  • Understand and follow engineering mine plans and engage in productive communication with the Planning Engineers, Surveyors and Geologists.
