Recruitment Of Director of Works & Physical Development At Takoradi Technical University (TTU)

The Director of Works and Physical Development shall, under the Vice-Chancellor, be responsible for the overall development and maintenance of the physical environment of the University and the provision of essential services in an efficient and effective manner

The Director of Works and Physical Development shall among others

• Supervise all works and contracts to ensure that construction and renovation are in consonance with prevailing industry standards and specifications
  • Oversee the management of construction contract with the view to ensuring compliance and due delivery of projects
  • Advise on the procurement of consultancy services relating to the procurement of technical advice on construction on compliance with the relevant national laws and regulations
  • Be responsible for management and maintenance of the building, roads, drains, parks and gardens of the University and their designs and drawings
  • Advise the Vice-Chancellor and the University council on matters of use land and development
  • Provide architectural and engineering designs and bills of quantities of all university construction projects

Qualifications

• Possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Built Environment or relevant area of study PLUS relevant professional qualification
  • Have served as Deputy Director of Works and Physical Development in a University or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least 6 years
  • Applicants must be computer literate

Terms of Appointments

• The terms and conditions of the appointment of the above positions shall be determined by the Governing Council of the University consistent with the Technical Universities, Act 2016 (Act 922) as amended and statutes of Takoradi Technical University

Tenure of Office

Recruitment Of Director of Internal Audit At Takoradi Technical University (TTU)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the internal audit of the accounts and financial transactions of the University
  • Required to report to the Governing Council through the Audit Committee
  • Responsible for the establishment and operation of an efficient and effective financial control system
  • Responsible for vetting all proposed expenditure to ensure compliance with laid-down internal control systems and other statutory requirements
  • Responsible for conducting periodic examination fo the accounts of the University including all units with limited financial and operational autonomy
  • Required to monitor and ensure that all expenditure incurred has been authorized and are within budgetary provisions
  • Responsible for liaising with external auditors and ensure that appropriate action is taken on reported audit findings
  • Responsible for ensuring that the University complies with the internal audit agency Act, 2003 (Act 565) and all other relevant statutory regulations

Qualifications

• Be a Chartered Accountant and hold a minimum of Master’s Degree in the relevant field
  • Must have served as Deputy Internal Auditor in University or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least 6 years
  • Must be computer literate and be conversant with accounting/auditing software applications

Recruitment Of Librarian At Takoradi Technical University (TTU)

Responsibilities

• The Librarian is the Head of the University Library and reports to the Vice-Chancellor in the management of the Library.
  • He/She provides leadership in advancing the University’s teaching, research and innovation mission through a clear vision of the library’s role, comprehensive strategic planning, incorporating emerging technology, sound fiscal management and engagement of the all members of the University community

The Librarian shall among others perform the following functions:

• He/She is responsible for the provision of adequate, relevant and up-to-date reading and audio-visual materials to support teaching, learning, research, innovation and community service functions of the University
  • He/She ensures the maintenance of a good environment for reading and learning in all libraries of the University
  • He/She exercises professional and administrative supervision over staff of the University libraries and ensures the efficient and effective running of the libraries of the University
  • He/She shall, in conjunction with the library committee, and subject to approval by the academic board, formulate policies for the maximum development and utilization of the libraries of the University
  • He/She collaborate and maintain linkages with the relevant and appropriate institution libraries abd organisations within and outside the country in order to keep up with development trends and attain exposure to developed systems
  • He/She shall perform any other official duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Vice-Chancellor

Qualifications

• Possess a minimum of research Master’s Degree in the library of information science-related studies. A PhD in Library Science or Studies is preferable
