The Head of Test Administration Division, WAEC, Mr George Ohene Mantey said this in an interview that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has a system in place for any candidate who is not satisfied with his or her WASSCE results to make an appeal 60 days after the release of the result. He stated that:
“Every candidate has the right to appeal if for some reasons is not satisfied with the results, that is available for any candidate,” he told host Winifred.
He, consequently, urged candidates who are not satisfied with their WASSCE results to make an appeal at the nearest WAEC office for a review.
Commenting on claims that WAEC intentionally fail students for them to sit for Nov/Dec, Mr George said: “our existence is base on the conduct of an examination and we will under no circumstance fail or leak questions to candidates to tarnish our image, our processes are fair and transparent”.
According to the WAEC staff, WAEC is never interested in any candidates failure as Ghanaian students claim their failure is the success of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
