About Nigeria Police Recruitment
- The Nigeria Police Force serves as the primary law enforcement organization in Nigeria, with personnel deployed throughout all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Oversight and leadership of the Nigeria Police Force are under the purview of the Inspector General of Police. Nigeria Police Recruitment Requirements – General Duty
Candidates are required to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess the National Identification Number (NIN).
- Candidates are expected to have a minimum of 5 credits in WAEC/NECO or their equivalent, obtained in no more than 2 sittings. These credits should include passes in English and Mathematics.
- General Duty applicants should fall within the age range of 18 to 25 years.
- All applicants must meet the required medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards. Male candidates should not be less than 167cm tall, while female candidates should be at least 1.64m tall.
- Male applicants should have a chest measurement of not less than 86cm (34 inches).
- Female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of entry.
- Applicants should provide a valid email address and phone number for communication.
- Statements of results or certificates from SSCE examinations taken before 2015 will not be accepted.
- Candidates should have a clean financial record and should not have been convicted of any criminal offense.
Nigeria Police Recruitment Requirements – Specialist (Artisan)
- Prospective candidates are required to be of Nigerian origin by birth and possess a National Identification Number (NIN).
- They should have a minimum of 4 credits in a maximum of 2 sittings in WASSCE/SSCE or their equivalent, with credit passes in both English and Mathematics.
- For Medical/Veterinary Assistants, a minimum of 5 credits in a maximum of 2 sittings in WASSCE/SSCE or the equivalent is required, with credit passes in English and Mathematics. Possessing a certificate in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
- Candidates should fall within the age range of 18-28 years.
- They must meet specific health criteria, including medical, physical, and psychological fitness, with a minimum height requirement of 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females.
- Male candidates should have an expanded chest measurement of not less than 86cm (34 inches). Female candidates should not be pregnant at the time of application.
- Notably, O’ level statements of results or certificates from examinations taken before 2014 will not be accepted. Candidates are expected to maintain a clean financial record and should not have any convictions for criminal offenses.
Nigeria Police Recruitment Documents Required
Applicants ore to present the originals of the following documents during the Automated Physical Screening Exercise:
- Educational Qualifications
- Evidence of good character from village/district head of the applicant.
- Indigene Certificate signed by Local Government Chairman a Secretary.
- Guarantor Form endorsed by a Public Servant not below the rank o! GL I3, Police Officer not below the rank of CSP or its equivalent from the Armed Forces and other Paramilitary services.
- Birth Certificates/Declaration of Age
- Evidence of physical/mental fitness from o government recognized Hospital.
How to Apply For Nigeria Police Recruitment
- To apply for the NPF Recruitment, begin by visiting the official Nigeria Police recruitment portal at www.apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng
- Next, fill out the NPF Recruitment registration form.
- Then, upload scanned copies of your SSCE, Birth, and Certificates of Origin. \
- Ensure that you provide all the necessary documents required for the specific position you are applying for.
- Following this, submit your application and make sure to print out your acknowledgment slip.
- Once you’ve successfully submitted the NPF Recruitment registration form, you will receive a confirmation message via email.
- You should print your completed online form and guarantor form, which must be submitted during the physical/credentials screening process at designated centers nationwide.
- Shortlisted candidates will receive notifications through email or SMS. It’s important to note that providing false information will result in automatic disqualification.

- Successful Applicants enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force will undergo a combined Academic and physical training leading to the employment of the successful ones into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables (PC).
