About GES Academic Calendar 2025

• The Ministry of Education , in partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES), has published the Academic Calendar for Senior High School (SHS)
• The GES Academic Calendar 2025 is grouped into Transitional, Single Track, and Basic Schools as follows.

GES Academic Calendar For SHS

New GES Transitional Academic Calendar

SHS 1st Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 students reopen on 3rd January, 2025 and be in school till 16th April, 2025
• Form 2 students reopen on 30th October, 2024 and be in school till 5th December, 2024
• Form 1 students reopen on 30th October, 2024 and be in school till 7th February, 2025

SHS 1st Semester Vacation / Break

• Form 3 students will go on break from 17th April, 2025 To 22nd April, 2025
• Form 2 students will go on break from 6th December, 2024 To 9th February, 2025
• Form 1 students will go on break from 8th February, 2025 To 25th May, 2025

SHS 2nd Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 students will reopen on 23rd April, 2025 and be in school till 29th August 2025
• Form 2 students will reopen on 10th February, 2025 and be in school till 23rd May2025
• Form 1 students will reopen on 26^th May, 2025 and be in school till 25^th July, 2025

SHS 2nd Semester Vacation / Break

• Form 2 students will go on break from 24^th May, 2025 To 27^th July 2025
• Form 1 students will go on break from 26^th July, 2025 To 30^th August 2025

Back From 2nd Semester Break / Vacation For SHS

• Form 2 students will reopen on 28^th July, 2025 and be in school till 17^th October, 2025
• Form 1 students will reopen on 31^st August 2025 and be in school till 17^th October, 2025

New GES Calendar for SHS Single Track

SHS Single Track 1st Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 students reopen on 30th October, 2024 and be in school till 5th March, 2025
• Form 2 students reopen on 30th October, 2024 and be in school till 5th March, 2025
• Form 1 students reopen on 30th October, 2024 and be in school till 5th March, 2025

SHS Single Track 1st Semester Break / Vacation Date

• Form 3 will go on Christmas break from 6th March, 2025 To 29th March, 2025
• Form 2 will go on Christmas break from 6th March, 2025 To 29th March, 2025
• Form 1 will go on Christmas break from 6th March, 2025 To 29th March, 2025

SHS Single Track 2nd Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 reopen from Christmas break on 30th March, 2025 and be in school till 29th August, 2025
• Form 2 reopen from Christmas break on 30th March, 2025 and be in school till 29th August, 2025
• Form 1 reopen from Christmas break on 30th March, 2025 and be in school till 29th August, 2025

WASSCE Exams Date

When Is WASSCE 2025 Starting

• WASSCE 2025 starts in July 2025 and ends in August 2025

When Is WASSCE 2026 Starting

• WASSCE 2026 starts in May 2026 and ends in June 2026
