GES Official Proposal For Reopening Of All Schools
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has launched a stakeholder consultation proposal to provide the President with measures to be taken ahead of a possible reopening of all Basic, Junior High School (JHS) and Senior High Schools (SHS). An official letter by the Ghana Education Service (GES) dated May 13th, 2020 and addressed to the Pre-Tertiary Teacher Unions in Ghana reads as follows:

GES Official Proposal For Reopening Of All Schools
You may recall that in March this year the president of the republic of Ghana directed that all schools should close down as part of efforts to to deal with the spread of the corona virus.
The President in his recent address extended the ban on all public gathering which include school activities to the end of May indicating that there will be a review on whether it’s safe for pupils and students to go back to the classroom.
In view of this, the Ghana Education Service (GES) is urging all stakeholders including leadership of teacher bodies like GNAT, NAGRAT among other have been invited to contribute their ideas on how the schools can ensure there’s safety and maximum Security if pupils are allowed to come back to school.
These bodies are expected to join others on May 19 to deliberate on the way forward in order for schools to reopen.
