Responsibilities

Business Continuity Management

  • Ensure operational resilience by implementing robust Business Continuity and Crisis Management (BCCM) strategies to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptions.
  • Design and maintain a comprehensive Business Continuity Management System, incorporating accurate Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) and Business Recovery Plans (BRPs) tailored to the organization’s needs.
  • Establish and oversee a fully functional Business Recovery Centre and both primary and alternate Crisis Management Team (CMT) incident rooms, including online facilities for communication and coordination.
  • Regularly review and update the Telecel Ghana Crisis Management Action Plan (CMAP). Test BCCM strategies and conduct simulation exercises to ensure operational readiness.
  • Serve as the CMT Coordinator for Telecel Ghana, facilitating timely and effective responses to crises.
  • Lead the activation of the Crisis Management Team during emergencies and provide critical support for crisis resolution.
  • Maintain and enhance a detailed CMAP that clearly defines team roles and responsibilities.
  • Assist Telecel Mobile Financial Services in maintaining its license and compliance with ISO 27001 (Information Security Management Systems), ensuring no non-conformities during audits.

Enterprise Risk Management

  • Oversee the transparent and effective management of enterprise risks at Telecel Ghana.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework and lead initiatives to mitigate identified key risks.
  • Integrate risk management practices into business operations and foster a culture of risk awareness.
  • Chair and facilitate the effective functioning of the Telecel Ghana Risk Steering Group.
  • Engage stakeholders to support and enhance the risk management process.

 

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Proven experience and formal training in Business Continuity and Crisis Management.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
  • Expertise in Enterprise Risk Management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Background in security and risk management within the telecommunications sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to support effective continuity planning.
  • Proficient in report writing and delivering clear oral communication.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.

 

Required Technical and Professional Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of crisis, risk, and business continuity management.
  • Understanding of financial statements and budgetary processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement policies that address evolving business needs.
  • Experience leading teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Adaptability to changing environments and challenges.
  • Strong background in telecommunications security and risk management.
