About GES Academic Calendar For 2022

• The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the academic calendar for 2022 for SHS, JHS, Primary and all Basic schools. This comes after the stakeholder engagement and consultations.
• The GES academic calendar is for all Public Schools thus Basic schools (KG-Primary/JHS) and Senior high Schools (SHS) as well as the reopening, Vacation, and the Mid-semester breaks for Basic schools (KG-Primary/JHS) and Senior high Schools (SHS) .
• SHS 3 double-track students shall spend 32 weeks in school, SHS two double-track students will spend 32 weeks in school while Year 1 double-track students will spend 27 weeks in total.
• Single track students will be in school for 30 weeks for SHS 3, SHS 2 for 34 weeks, and SHS 1 for 31 weeks.

GES First Semester Academic Calendar For 2022 Basic Schools & JHS

• The First Semester of the 2022 academic calendar commences on January 18th 2022, and ends on June 9th 2022.
• The first-semester break is on 12th April 2022 to 18th April 2022.
• There will be a vacation break from June 10th 2022, to July 25th 2022

GES Second Semester Academic Calendar For 2022 Basic Schools & JHS

• Second semester begins on July 26th 2022, and ends on December 16th 2022
• Vacation starts from December 17th 2022
• Second-semester break is from 30th September 2022 to 9th October 2022.

GES SHS Double Track Academic Calendar First Semester

Double Track SHS 3 Academic Calendar First Semester

• Students in form three (3) under double-track will be in school from 7th February 2022 to 1st April 2022.
• Vacation date is expected to be from 2nd April 2022 to 18th April 2022.

Double Track SHS 2 Academic Calendar First Semester

• Gold Track SHS 2 double-track students will be in school from 7th February 2022 to 14th April 2022 for the first semester.
• Vacation is from 15th April 2022 to 25th June 2022.
• Green Track SHS 2 double-track students will return to school from 26th June 2022 to 16th July 2022.

Double Track SHS 1 Academic Calendar First Semester

• Gold track SHS 1 Students will resume school from 4th April 2022 to 20th June 2022.
• Vacation will be from 21st June 2022 to 3rd September 2022.
• Green Gold track SHS 1 students shall be in school from 4th September 2022 to 24th September 2022.

Double Track SHS 3 Academic Calendar Second Semester

• SHS 3 Double Track students will be in school from 19th April 2022 until the end of WASSCE. period for the 2022/2023 academic year.

Double Track SHS 2 Academic Calendar Second Semester

• Gold track SHS 2 Students will be in school from July 17th 2022, to July 26th August 2022
• Vacation from 27th August 2022 to 6th October 2022.
• Green track SHS 2 students will be in school from October 7th 2022, to December 16th 2022, when students will return to their families for the Christmas holidays.

Double Track SHS 1 Academic Calendar Second Semester

• Form one students in double-track schools will begin the semester from September 25, 2022, to December 16, 2022.

First Semester Academic Calendar For Single Track Schools

SHS 3 Single Track Academic Calendar First Semester

• Students will be in school from February 7, 2022, to May 31, 2022, and then go on vacation from June 1, 2022, to June 1, 2022.

SHS 2 Single Track Academic Calendar First Semester

• Students will be in school from February 7th 2022, to May 17, 2022, and then go on vacation from May 18th 2022, to June 13, 2022.

SHS 1 Single Track Academic Calendar First Semester

• Students will be in school from April 4th 2022, to July 14th 2022. Their vacation will be from July 15th 2022, to August 15, 2022.

Second Semester Academic Calendar For Single Track Schools

SHS 3 Single Track Academic Calendar Second Semester

• Students will be in school from June 14th 2022, until the end of WASSCE for the 2022/2023 academic year period.

SHS 2 Single Track Academic Calendar First Semester

• Students will be in school from June 14, 2022, to November 1, 2022

SHS 1 Single Track Academic Calendar First Semester

• Students will be in school from August 16 to December 13 2022
