The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially opened the GES promotion portal for AD I, AD II Deputy Director, PS, and Non- Teaching Staff to apply for GES promotion and subsequent upgrade in rank. The official release reads as follows:

Application For Promotion To Grades Of Deputy Director, Assistant director I, Assistant director II And Principal superintendent

Applications are invited from suitably qualified serving officers/teachers for consideration for promotion of the grade of.

1. Deputy director
2. Assistant director I
3. Assistant director II
4. Principal superintendent

GES Promotion Qualifications

GES Promotion To Deputy Director

• An applicant should have been promoted to the grade of Assistant Director I on or before 2015 and should have been continuously at post since date(Except for the periods of approved leave of absence)

GES Promotion To Assistant Director I

• An applicant should have been promoted to the grade of Assistant Director II on or before 2015 and should have been continuously at post since date(Except for the periods of approved leave of absence)

GES Promotion To Assistant Director II

• An applicant should have been promoted to the grade of Principal Superintendent on or before 2015 and should have been continuously at post since date(Except for the periods of approved leave of absence)

GES Promotion To Principal Superintendent

• An applicant should have been promoted to the grade of Senior Superintendent on or before 2015 and should have been continuously at post since date(Except for the periods of approved leave of absence)

Officers / Teachers with Master’s Degree and PHD

For the avoidance of doubt, applicants who wish to rely on masters/doctorate degrees to join the promotion exercise should note the following

1. Masters/PHD programme should be on the approved GES course of study
2. The Masters/PHD certificate should not been obtained before previous promotion
3. Applicants should have obtained their certificate on or before 2017 and not before the last promotion

GES Promotion Application Forms Portal

Teachers or officers who wish to apply are to access the application form @ www.gespromotions.gov.gh

1. Each applicant should complete the Application Form online and upload a passport size photograph as well
2. An applicant’s form must be supported by all previous promotion letters and certificates
3. The completed application form should be uploaded on the site by 23rd November
