Manager, Receivables Technology at Ecobank

This role is responsible for overseeing business applications and processes within the receivables unit, ensuring that technology solutions align with strategic objectives.

The position manages technology functions for the unit, facilitates collaboration between business stakeholders and IT teams (including external vendors), and serves as the primary liaison between technology and business operations.

Key responsibilities include analyzing business needs, designing and developing technology solutions, testing, implementing, and deploying systems while ensuring seamless integration with existing platforms.

Additionally, the role involves leading and mentoring a team of technology professionals to drive the successful execution of business initiatives. The position reports to the unit head and acts as a key support, stepping in as needed to execute the unit’s technology strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly review and update business requirement documents to ensure clarity and accuracy for all stakeholders.
  • Convert business needs into functional and technical requirement documents, breaking down high-level objectives into actionable steps.
  • Work with stakeholders to translate functional requirements into detailed solution design documents.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure effective planning and execution using best practices; lead projects when necessary.
  • Serve as the senior technical analyst for all technology initiatives related to the receivables unit, executing required tasks.
  • Support system testing by working closely with the testing team to develop test cases and ensure thorough evaluations.
  • Act as the primary business analyst for initiatives, coordinating tasks and engaging with business units, project managers, and IT teams.
  • Facilitate meetings, discussions, and communications between stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate project documentation, reports, and dashboards.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and other materials as required by senior leadership.
  • Manage and maintain IT environments, including development, UAT, and pre-production systems, while assisting with production support.
  • Provide Level 3 support and maintenance for business platforms, including testing new features, system fixes, upgrades, and customizations.
  • Gain a deep understanding of core business operations, products, and policies within the merchant acquiring sector.
  • Foster collaboration between business teams and IT support to ensure solutions meet functional requirements.
  • Work with internal teams and third-party vendors to resolve system issues efficiently.
  • Lead and mentor a team of analysts, offering guidance on daily tasks and professional development.

Education & Experience Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (CBAP, PMP, ITIL) are a plus.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in technology and business analysis.
  • Strong understanding of banking and financial services.
  • Proven success in delivering technology projects and managing business analysis functions.
  • Experience in gathering requirements, process mapping, and translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Skilled in managing cross-functional teams, including analysts, developers, and IT operations staff.
  • Expertise in stakeholder management, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a business-friendly manner.
  • Knowledge of modern technology stacks, cloud computing, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Enterprise IT experience and proficiency with productivity tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
