The National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) is searching for a highly qualified, experienced, and forward-thinking professional to take on the role of General Secretary (CEO).
The ideal candidate should be innovative, proactive, and possess excellent communication skills, with a deep understanding of local governance and decentralization in Ghana.

Key Responsibilities
The General Secretary will:
- Lead the National Secretariat, ensuring the effective implementation of NALAG’s programs under the President’s direction.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of the Association.
- Execute decisions made by the National Delegates Conference (NALAG’s highest decision-making body) and the National Executive Council (policy-formulating body).
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Ensure the effective utilization and management of the Association’s resources.
- Oversee financial planning, management, and accountability.
- Act as the official representative of NALAG in media, policy discussions, and public forums to promote local governance and decentralization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the National Executive Council.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- A postgraduate degree or diploma in Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related discipline (preferred).
- At least five (5) years of managerial experience in a leadership role.
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and human relations skills.
- Proven ability to manage and direct an administrative secretariat efficiently.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in local governance and decentralization in Ghana.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with donor agencies and NGOs.
- Proficiency in computer applications, internet use, and office software.
