Nurse and Teacher Trainees Allowances Cancellation Announced
The Government is currently making consultations with stakeholders to review Nurse and Teacher Trainees Allowances. The Nurse and Teacher Trainees Allowances is to be replaced with student loan scheme.
The review will cover teacher and nursing trainees in all tertiary institutions including private institutions when completed.
After the consultations this will eventually cancel and replace the current trainee allowances for teacher and nurse trainees with student loans payable after graduation.
This comes as a disappointment to trainees since the initially suspended allowance was reintroduced by the government as a campaign promise.
