About Police Recruitment

  • The Nigeria Police Force is the principal law enforcement agency in Nigeria. It has staff deployment across the 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The command and control of the Nigeria Police Force is under the Inspector General of Police. For administrative ease, the Force is divided into Eight (8) administrative departments.
  • The Nigeria Police Force has therefore commenced the recruitment process for qualified individuals into the rank of Police Constables in the General Duty and Specialist (Artisan) Cadres.

 

Police Recruitment Positions

 

Police Recruitment Requirements – General Duty

  1. Applicants shall be of Nigerian origin by birth and must possess the National Identification Number (NIN)
  2. Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credits in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO or its equivalent with credit passes in English and Mathematics
  3. Applicants must be aged between 18-25 years for General Duty
  4. Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit and must not be less than 167m tall for male and 1.64m tall for female
  5. Applicants must not hove less thon 86cm (34 inches) expanded chest measurement (for male only)
  6. Female Applicants must not be pregnant at the lime of entry.
  7. Applicants must hove o valid email address and phone number.
  8. SSCE statements of result or certificates relating lo examinations taken before 2015 will not be accepted.
  9. Applicants must be free from any financial embarrassment and not convicted of any criminal offence.

 

Police Recruitment Requirements – Specialist (Artisan)

  1. Applicants shall be of Nigerian origin by birth and must possess the Nation Identification Number (NIN).
  2. Applicants must possess o minimum of 4 credits in not more thon 2 sittings in WASSCE/SSCE or Its equivalent with credit passes in English and Mathematics. Medical/Veterinary Assistants must possess a minimum of 5 credits in not mare than 2 sittings in WASSCE/SSCE or its equivalent with credit posses in English and Mathematics while any Certificate In relevant fields will be added advantage.
  3. Applicants must be aged between 18-28 years
  4. Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit and must not be less than 1 67m tall for males and 1 .64m tall br females.
  5. Applicants must not hove less than 86cm (34 inches) expanded chest measurement (for males only).
  6. Female Applicants must not be pregnant at the time of entry.
  7. O’ level statements of result or certificates relating to examinations taken before 2014 will not be accepted.
  8. Applicants must be free from any financial embarrassment and not convicted of any criminal offence.

 

Police Recruitment Documents Required

Applicants ore to present the originals of the following documents during the Automated Physical Screening Exercise:

  • Educational Qualifications
  • Birth Certificates/Declaration of Age
  • Evidence of physical/mental fitness from o government recognized Hospital.
  • Evidence of good character from village/district head of the applicant.
  • Indigene Certificate signed by Local Government Chairman a Secretary.
  • Guarantor Form endorsed by a Public Servant not below the rank o! GL I3, Police Officer not below the rank of CSP or its equivalent from the Armed Forces and other Paramilitary services.

 

How to Apply For Police Recruitment

  1. To apply for NPF Recruitment, first access the Nigeria police recruitment portal at www.apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng
  2. Then complete the NPF Recruitment registration form.
  3. Then upload scanned copies of your SSCE, Birth and Certificates of Origin.
  4. Be sure to provide all the necessary documents required for the position you wish to apply.
  5. Afterwards Submit and print out your acknowledgment slip.
  6. Upon successful submission of the NPF Recruitment registration form, you will receive a confirmation message on your email.
  7. You must print your completed online form, guarantor form and submit same during the physical/credentials screening exercise at prescribed centers nationwide.
  8. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted through Email/SMS.
  9. Any false information will lead to automatic disqualification.

 

Police Recruitment Portal

 

Police Recruitment Aptitude Test 

  • Successful Applicants will be mode to undergo on Aptitude Test (Computer Based), on a date to be communicated later.

 

Police Recruitment Screening

  • Applicants who scale through the Aptitude Test (Computer Based( will be invited for Automated Physical and Medical Screening at the 17 Police Zonal Medical Centers on a date to be communicated later.

 

Police Recruitment Training

  • Successful Applicants enlisted into the Police Force will undergo a combined Academic and physical training leading to the employment of the successful ones into the Nigeria Police Force as Police Constables (PC).

 

Police Recruitment Application Deadline

  • The online application portal is opened for the period of six weeks, where prospective applicants are required to complete the online application forms and submit them within the specified period.
