Core Responsibilities
- Oversee the procurement and supply of parts and tools, ensuring an efficient and streamlined supply chain process.
- Ensure all purchasing activities are backed by appropriate and approved requisitions or capital expenditure requests.
- Manage and verify data input into systems for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with internal control policies.
- Apply supply chain best practices to meet organizational standards.
- Supervise and coordinate supply chain procedures, policies, and regulations effectively.
- Investigate and resolve inventory and purchasing discrepancies using relevant Sandvik systems.
- Oversee the ordering process for SMC Ghana, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
- Develop and implement career and competency plans for team members within the procurement department.
- Manage the import and export of goods to and from Ghana.
- Work towards achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Strictly adhere to SMC’s policies, especially Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) protocols.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or partial qualification in CIPS (or equivalent).
- At least five years of experience in a similar role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of spare parts, rock tools, and crushing and screening equipment.
- Proficiency in Business English (both written and spoken).
- Experience in procurement, cargo management, and import/export operations.
- Familiarity with Aurora software and maintenance management practices.
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly with spreadsheets.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills.
- A business-oriented mindset with a focus on Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS).
- Willingness to travel and work in remote locations for extended periods.
- The ability to communicate in French is an added advantage.
Reporting Line
This role reports directly to the Inventory and Logistics Manager.
