About SANDF Recruitment
- SANDF stands for SA National Defence Force
- Note that SANDF does not use online application system to accept applications, however SANDF Recruitment can be downloaded from the SANDF Social Media Platforms or obtained from the under-mentioned venues.
- You must fill, sign and date the application form.
- Note that applications are NOT FOR SALE.
- Under no circumstance should you be required to pay money to receive or submit MSDS Application Forms.
SANDF Recruitment General Requirements
- You should be a South African Citizen (no dual citizenship).
- You should have no criminal offenses.
- All applicants applying for SA Army and SA Air Force (Pilot and Navigators) should comply with minimum height and weight requirements as stipulated on the application forms).
- You should pass drug testing, fitness, Psychometric and medical evaluation.
- You must not have any visible tattoos (Legs, lower arms, neck and face).
- You must not be area bound (must be deployable anywhere in South Africa or other Southern African regions).
- You should be preferably single
SANDF Recruitment Age Requirements
- You should be 18 – 22 years when reporting for MSDS 2025 Intake and successfully completed Grade 12, with the Admission Point Score (APS) as stipulated below:
SANDF Recruitment Qualifications
- General Musterings: Admission Point Score (APS) 17 and above, excluding LO with specific subjects and levels as stipulated per occupation.
- SA Army: Admission Point Score (APS) 17 and above, excluding Life Orientation (LO) – Level 4 Mathematics and Physical Science will be advantageous.
SA Air Force. - SA Air Force (Technical Trade): Admission Point Score (APS) 20 and above, excluding LO with Mathematics, Physical Science and English with at least level 4.
- SA Navy (Combat, Technical Engineering): Admission Point Score (APS) 24 and above, excluding LO and Mathematics and Physical Science with at least level 4 for both subjects (NO Mathematical Literacy).
- SA Navy (Support): Admission Point Score (APS) 24 and above, excluding LO with specific subjects and levels as stipulated per occupation.
- SA Navy (Divers and Submariners): Divers. Admission Point Score (APS) 20 and above, excluding LO and Mathematics with least level 3 (NO Mathematical Literacy). Submariners. Admission Point Score (APS) 24 and above, excluding LO and Mathematics and Physical Science with at least level 4 for both subjects (NO Mathematical Literacy).
- SA Navy (Engineering): Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
- SA Air Force (Engineer): Admission Point Score (APS) 35 and above, excluding LO with Mathematics, Physical Science and English with at least level 4.
- SA Air Force (Pilots/Navigators): Mathematics, Physical Science and English minimum (Level 4). Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and Grade 12 with Mathematics, Physical Science and English minimum (Level 4). 18 – 26 years if in possession of a three (3) year Tertiary qualification (Degree, National Diploma or N6 with N4 and N5 prescripts):
- SA Air Force (Engineers): Industrial Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering.
- SA Military Health Service: Admission Point Score (APS) of 24, excluding LO for all available occupations with specific subjects and levels as stipulated per medical/nursing occupation. Public Relations and Journalism, Organisational Study, Medical/nursing occupations.
