About UCC Grading System & How To Calculate GPA
End-of-Semester examination results are posted in students’ portals before the re-opening date of the following semester.
The part of the assessment is the use of results gained in the end-of-semester examinations. This takes 60% of the marks and 40% goes into the continuous assessment.
All continuous assessment results shall be displayed on the departmental notice boards two (2) weeks before the start of end-of-semester examinations.
UCC Student Assessment
The University operates a combination of Continuous Assessment and End-of-Semester Examination with the following weightings. There are a minimum of two (2) Continuous Assessments per course per semester.

How To Calculate UCC GPA
Computation of Grade Point Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
CODE | DESCRIPTION | CREDIT POINT (CP) | LETTER GRADE | GRADE POINT (GP) | CP×GP |
Eco 101 | PRINCIPLES OF ECONOMICS 1 | 3 | B | 4 | 12 |
LSB 104 | BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS | 3 | A | 4 | 12 |
EPS 111 | PSYCHOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION | 3 | C | 3 | 9 |

Total (CP×GP) GPA=Total (CP) =3.2 | The sum of the product of credit points for a course (the course weighting) and the grade point for the course divided by the sum of the course weightings for all courses in the semester. |
