WAEC Releases WASSCE Private, Nov Dec Results: Check Results

In an official facebook post today 19th November , the west West African Examinations Council officially releases provisional results for the WASSCE for Private candidates ( GCE Nov Dec ) who sat for the WASSCE for Private candidates ( GCE Nov Dec ) . The statement  reads:

The West African Examinations Council wishes to inform its numerous publics that it has released provisional results of candidates who sat for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates. A total of 102,278 candidates made up of 51,935 males and 55,488 females sat for the examination. Out of those who initially registered for the examination, 5,145 of the candidates were absent.

The entire results of 753 candidates alleged to have been involved in various examination malpractices have been withheld pending conclusion of investigations into cases of malpractices. These malpractices include impersonation and bringing mobile phones into the examination hall.

The withheld results will be released or cancelled as soon as the Council concludes its investigations. Candidates may access their results online at www.waecgh.org.

CAUTION

The Council wishes to advise members of the public to be on the alert for fraudsters who contact candidates with the promise of upgrading their results for a fee payable through mobile money transfers. We wish to assure all stakeholders that the Council’s results database is well secured, as such all forged results can be detected by the confirmation/verification system which has been made available to institutions and organisations.

Institutions and organisations are therefore advised to confirm or verify results presented to them directly from the Council or access the confirmation/verification service online at the Council’s website. The results print-out can also be confirmed by scanning the encrypted QR Code on the print-out with a downloaded version of the “WAEC GH QR Code Reader”.

WAEC withheld results of 753 candidates over examination malpractices.

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has withheld the results of 753 candidates alleged to have been involved in various examination malpractices in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private candidates ( Nov / Dec ).

A statement from the WAEC showed that the full results of affected candidates have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into various cases of examination malpractice detected during and after the conduct of the examination.

Per a release issued by WAEC, some 102, 278 candidates comprising of 51, 935 males and 55, 488 females registered for the exams.

Out of the total number, 5, 145 absentees were recorded.

Results of some 753 candidates have been withheld for allegedly engaging in various forms of examination malpractices, one of which is bringing mobile phones into the exams hall.

According to the examination body, these withheld results will be released or cancelled after the Council completes investigations into the alleged malpractices.

WAEC  made this known with the statement:

“The withheld results will be released or cancelled as soon as the Council concludes its investigations into the malpractices which include impersonation and bringing mobile phones into the examination hall, bringing foreign material such as prepared notes, printed material and mobile phones to the examination hall and collusion among candidates,” the statement said.

The statement also noted that out of 102,278 candidates, 51,935 males and 55,488 females sat for the examination with 5,145 of the candidates, absent.

Also the council cautions members of the public to wary of fraudsters who promise to upgrade their results at a fee.

WAEC cautioned the general public to be wary of persons who pose as representatives of the Council with the capability of changing or upgrading results at a fee with the statement:

“We wish to assure all stakeholders that the Council’s results database is well secured, as such all forged results can be detected by the confirmation/verification system which has been made available to institutions and organizations,” the Council stated.

Various institutions and organizations are therefore advised to access the confirmation or verification service online through the Council’s website.

It states that:

“The Council will send the results to the schools and candidates are advised to contact their heads of school for their results.”
