About 2025 Academic Calendar

• The GES in collaboration with the Ministry of Education has released the Academic Year Calendar for Senior High School (SHS), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Basic Schools for the next academic year.

2025 SHS Academic Calendar

SHS 1st Semester Reopening Dates

• Form 3 students are scheduled to resume classes on January 3, 2025, and will remain in school until April 16, 2025.
• Form 2 students returned on October 30, 2024, and stayed in school until December 5, 2024.
• Form 1 students will started the semester on October 30, 2024, and continues until February 7, 2025.

SHS 1st Semester Vacation/Break Periods

• Form 3 students will go on vacation from April 17, 2025, to April 22, 2025.
• Form 2 students had their break from December 6, 2024, to February 9, 2025.
• Form 1 students will take a break from February 8, 2025, to May 25, 2025.

SHS 2nd Semester Reopening Dates

• Form 3 students will resume classes on April 23, 2025, and will be in school until August 29, 2025.
• Form 2 students will reopen on February 10, 2025, and attend classes until May 23, 2025.
• Form 1 students will begin their second semester on May 26, 2025, and continue until July 25, 2025.

SHS 2nd Semester Vacation/Break Periods

• Form 2 students will take a break from May 24, 2025, to July 27, 2025.
• Form 1 students will go on vacation from July 26, 2025, to August 30, 2025.

Return from 2nd Semester Vacation for SHS

• Form 2 students will return to school on July 28, 2025, and remain in session until October 17, 2025.
• Form 1 students will resume classes on August 31, 2025, and stay in school until October 17, 2025.

GES Academic Calendar for SHS Single Track

SHS Single Track 1st Semester Reopening Dates

• Form 3 students begun their semester on October 30, 2024, and stay in school until March 5, 2025.
• Form 2 students reopened on October 30, 2024, and continue classes until March 5, 2025.
• Form 1 students started the semester on October 30, 2024, and attend classes until March 5, 2025.

SHS Single Track 1st Semester Vacation/Break Periods

• Form 3 students will be on vacation from March 6, 2025, to March 29, 2025.
• Form 2 students will take their break from March 6, 2025, to March 29, 2025.
• Form 1 students will also go on break from March 6, 2025, to March 29, 2025.

SHS Single Track 2nd Semester Reopening Dates

• Form 3 students will resume classes on March 30, 2025, and continue until August 29, 2025.
• Form 2 students will return to school on March 30, 2025, and stay in session until August 29, 2025.
• Form 1 students will reopen on March 30, 2025, and attend classes until August 29, 2025.

2025 WASSCE Date

When Will 2025 WASSCE Start

• WASSCE 2025 will start in July 2025 to August 2025
