About 2024 Academic Calendar

• The Academic Calendar for Senior High School (SHS), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and Basic Schools has been issued by the Ghana Education Service (GES) in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
• The GES Academic Calendar 2024/2025 is categorized into Single Track, Double Track, and Basic Schools sections.

Academic Calendar For SHS

GES Double Track Academic Calendar

SHS Double Track 1st Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 students reopens on 3rd January, 2024 and end the Semester on 28th March, 2024
• Form 2 students reopens on 8th March, 2024 and end the Semester on 9th May, 2024
• Form 1 students reopens on 4th December, 2023 and end the Semester on 5th March, 2024

SHS Double Track 1st Semester Vacation / Break

• Form 3 students will go on break from 29th March, 2024 To 16th April, 2024
• Form 2 students will go on break from 10th May, 2024 To 11th July, 2024
• Form 1 students will go on break from 6th March, 2024 To 12th May, 2024

SHS Double Track 2nd Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 students will reopen on 17th April, 2024 and end the Semester on 23rd Aug, 2024
• Form 2 students will reopen on 12th July, 2024 and end the Semester on 15th Nov, 2024
• Form 1 students will reopen on13^th May, 2024 and end the Semester on 9^th July, 2024

SHS Double Track 2nd Semester Break

• Form 1 students will go on break from 10^th July, 2024 To 2^nd Sept,2024

Back From 2nd Semester Break / Vacation For SHS Double Track

• Form 1 students will reopen on 3^rd Sept, 2024 and end the Semester on 15^th Nov, 2024

GES Calendar for SHS Single Track

SHS Single Track 1st Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 students reopens on 1st Nov, 2023 and end the Semester on 5th March, 2024
• Form 2 students reopens on 1st Nov. 2023 and end the Semester on 5th March, 2024
• Form 1 students reopens on 4th December, 2023 and end the Semester on 15th March, 2024

SHS Single Track 1st Semester Break

• Form 3 will go on Christmas break from 21st Dec, 2024 To 2nd Jan, 2024
• Form 2 will go on Christmas break from 21st Dec, 2024 To 2nd Jan, 2024
• Form 1 will go on Christmas break from 21st Dec, 2024 To 2nd Jan, 2024

Back From 1st Semester Break For SHS Single Track

• Form 3 reopen from Christmas break on 3rd Jan, 2024 and end the Semester on 5th March, 2024
• Form 2 reopen from Christmas break on 3rd Jan, 2024 and end the Semester on 5th March, 2024
• Form 1 reopen from Christmas break on 3rd Jan, 2024 and end the Semester on16^th March, 2024

SHS Single Track 1st Semester Vacation Date

• Form 3 will go on vacation from 5th March, 2024 To 2nd May, 2024
• Form 2 will go on vacation from 5th March, 2024 To 2nd May, 2024
• Form 1 will go on vacation from 16^th March, 2024 To 2nd May, 2024

SHS Single Track 2nd Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 2nd Semester will reopen on 3rd May, 2024 and end the Semester on 28th Aug, 2024
• Form 2 2nd Semester will reopen on 3rd May, 2024 and end the Semester on 28th Aug, 2024
• Form 1 2nd Semester will reopen on 3^rd May, 2024 and end the Semester on 28th Aug, 2024

SHS Single Track 2nd Semester Vacation Date

• Form 2 2nd Semester Vacation Date is 28th Aug,2024
• Form 1 2nd Semester Vacation Date is 28th Aug, 2024

Academic Calendar For Basic Schools

Basic Schools 1st Term Reopening Date – (KG, Basic 1-6, JHS 1, JHS 2)

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) students 1st Term Reopening Date is 3rd Oct, 2023 and end the term on 22nd Dec 2023

Basic Schools 1st Term Vacation Date – (KG, Basic 1-6, JHS 1, JHS 2)

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) students 1st Term Vacation Date is 23rd Dec, 2023 To 8th Jan, 2024

Basic Schools 2nd Term Reopening Date – (KG, Basic 1-6, JHS 1, JHS 2)

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) students Second Term Reopening Date is 9th Jan 2024 and end the term on 11th April, 2024

Basic Schools 2nd Term Vacation Date – (KG, Basic 1-6, JHS 1, JHS 2)

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) students 2nd Term Vacation Date is 12^th April 2024 To 24^th April 2024

Basic Schools 3rd Term Reopening Date – (KG, Basic 1-6, JHS 1, JHS 2)

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) students 3rd Term Reopening Date is 30th April 2024 and end the term on 25th^th July, 2024

Basic Schools 3rd Term Vacation Date – (KG, Basic 1-6, JHS 1, JHS 2)

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) students 3rd Term Vacation Date is 25th^th July, 2024

Academic Calendar for JHS 3

JHS 3 1st Term Reopening Date

• JHS 3 (Basic 9) students 1st Term Reopening Date is 3rd Oct, 2023 and end the term on 22nd Dec 2023

JHS 3 1st Term Vacation Date

• JHS 3 1st Term Vacation Date is 23rd Dec, 2023 To 8th Jan, 2024

JHS 3 2nd Term Reopening Date

• JHS 3 students Second Term Reopening Date is 9th Jan 2024 and end the term on 11th April, 2024

JHS 3 2nd Term Vacation Date

• JHS 3 students 2nd Term Vacation Date is 12^th April 2024 To 24^th April 2024

JHS 3 3rd Term Reopening Date

• JHS 3 students third Term Reopening Date is 30th April 2024 and write BECE Exams in July, 2024
