About 2025 SHS Academic Calendar

• The Ministry of Education , in partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES), has published the Academic Calendar for Senior High School (SHS), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and Basic Schools.
• The GES Academic Calendar 2025 is categorized into Single Track, Double Track, and Basic Schools.

New GES Transitional Academic Calendar

SHS 1st Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 students: Return on January 3, 2025, and remain in school until April 16, 2025.
• Form 2 students: Resume on October 30, 2024, and stay in school until December 5, 2024.
• Form 1 students: Begin on October 30, 2024, and continue in school until February 7, 2025.

SHS 1st Semester Vacation / Break

• Form 3 students: Break starts April 17, 2025, and ends April 22, 2025.
• Form 2 students: Break lasts from December 6, 2024, to February 9, 2025.
• Form 1 students: Vacation spans February 8, 2025, to May 25, 2025.

SHS 2nd Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 students: Resume classes on April 23, 2025, and remain in school until August 29, 2025.
• Form 2 students: Return on February 10, 2025, and continue until May 23, 2025.
• Form 1 students: Reopen on May 26, 2025, and stay in school until July 25, 2025.

SHS 2nd Semester Vacation / Break

• Form 2 students: Break runs from May 24, 2025, to July 27, 2025.
• Form 1 students: Vacation extends from July 26, 2025, to August 30, 2025.

Back From 2nd Semester Break / Vacation for SHS

• Form 2 students: Return on July 28, 2025, and remain in school until October 17, 2025.
• Form 1 students: Resume on August 31, 2025, and continue until October 17, 2025.

SHS Single Track 1st Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 students: Classes resume on October 30, 2024, and continue until March 5, 2025.
• Form 2 students: Return to school on October 30, 2024, and stay until March 5, 2025.
• Form 1 students: Begin on October 30, 2024, and remain in school until March 5, 2025.

SHS Single Track 1st Semester Break / Vacation Date

• Form 3 students: Break starts March 6, 2025, and ends March 29, 2025.
• Form 2 students: Vacation runs from March 6, 2025, to March 29, 2025.
• Form 1 students: Go on break from March 6, 2025, to March 29, 2025.

SHS Single Track 2nd Semester Reopening Date

• Form 3 students: Resume classes on March 30, 2025, and stay in school until August 29, 2025.
• Form 2 students: Return on March 30, 2025, and continue until August 29, 2025.
• Form 1 students: Reopen on March 30, 2025, and remain in school until August 29, 2025.
