Duties

  1. The Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director and Chief Director will provide leadership in the implementation of Government Programmes, Policies and Plans in the designated Region.
  2. The Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director and Chief Director will Promote effective coordination and institutional relationships among MMDAs, RCCs, LGS as well as other organizations;
  3. The Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director and Chief Director will Assess project proposals and contract agreements to ensure compliance with prescribed laws and regulations;
  4. The Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director and Chief Director will Assist in the formulation and implementation of new national policies;
  5. The Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director and Chief Director will Acts as an Advisor to the Minister, Head of Service and Development Partners
  6. The Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director and Chief Director will Ensures the development of the capabilities, skills and knowledge of staff;
  7. The Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director and Chief Director will Apprais direct reports and Undertake any other tasks that may be assigned.

Qualification And Experience For Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director And Chief Director

  1. The Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director and Chief Director must have Masters degree in Public Policy, Development Economics, Finance, Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Public Administration or an equivalent discipline;
  2. The Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director and Chief Director must have a Minimum of Five (5) years relevant working experience as a Director or analogous position in the Local Government Service (LGS); and
  3. The Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director and Chief Director must be a Member of a recognized professional body is an added advantage.
  4. The Local Government Service ( LGS ) Regional Coordinating Director and Chief Director must also have the following knowledge, and skills mix: Public Financial Management, Leadership and Managerial skills, Excellent oral and written communication skills, Good negotiation and interpersonal skills Good monitoring and evaluation skills, Substantial expertise in Public Sector Management, Project Management and Local, Government Administration, Excellent analytical skills and Literacy in Information & Communications Technology.

What To Do After Checking Your Local Government Service ( LGS ) Postings

After checking and receiving letters of postings from the Regional coordinating council,the Metropolitan, Municipal or the District Assembly would be expecting appointees to report at their respective offices right away. Work starts immediately after you report to the Assembly.

 

Staff I.D For Local Government Postings Released

The massive recruitment by the local government service saw over two thousand new entrants of staff. The Staff I.D or employee numbers of these new officers were officially released.
The staff IDs are used for the biometric registration after postings and accessing your appointment letter. The biometric registration process By way of staff getting their salaries, this is a vital part of the process of being mechanized on the government payroll.
Recruited staff are to note that employee numbers are being released in batches. Posted Officers are to report to the respective Human Resource Managers in the various regional coordinating councils and assemblies for direction.

For the local government service biometric registration you require; Original appointment letter, Two copies of appointment letter, Two copies of ‘letters of introduction’ addressed to the director in charge of Biometric registration at the Biometric Secretariat, Two copies of assumption of duty letters, Original National ID preferably voters card plus photocopies, Details of SSNIT ( SSNIT card), Bank account details, Officers are to contact their respective HRs for their details in the following order, Employee number, name, management unit, job name, grade number, sex, date of birth, job, region, district and the employee type.
