About Salary Increase

  • The Salary Increment for 2025  is a topic of significant interest for workers, employers, and policymakers alike, as it addresses anticipated changes in compensation structures across various industries in the country.
  • With the rising cost of living, inflationary pressures, and the need for businesses to remain competitive, discussions on wage adjustments for 2025 are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the Philippine labor market.
  • This increase will likely have broad implications for the standard of living, employee retention, and economic growth in the Philippines. Understanding the factors driving these changes and their potential impact is essential for both employers and employees as they navigate the evolving economic landscape.

Who is Eligible for the Salary Increase

  • The question of Who is Eligible for the Salary Increment revolves around the provisions of the Salary Standardization Law, which applies to all civilian government employees. This includes individuals working in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, as well as those employed in Constitutional Commissions, other Constitutional Offices, and Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) not subject to Republic Act 10149.
  • Eligibility extends to all government employees, regardless of their employment status, whether they are regular, contractual, or casual, and regardless of whether they work full-time or part-time. This broad scope ensures that a wide range of government workers will benefit from the anticipated salary increases in 2025.

Salary Increase Guidelines

  • Salary adjustments for personnel in the Philippines are governed by specific guidelines to ensure compliance with laws and budgetary constraints. Regular and contractual employees working full-time receive monthly compensation based on the prescribed Salary Schedule, while part-time workers are compensated proportionally. Casual personnel are paid daily rates calculated by dividing the monthly rate by 22 working days.
  • For local government unit (LGU) personnel, salary increases must adhere to budget limits set under Republic Act No. 7160 and require authorization from the Sanggunian. Salaries must align with the LGU’s income classification and not exceed the percentages outlined in the prescribed schedule. Compliance with these provisions ensures equitable and sustainable salary adjustments.
