Ghana Armed Forces Recruitment Entry Requirements
Eligible applicants should:
- Be Ghanaian citizen by birth.
- Be of good character.
- Not be married (Applicable to Regular Cadets Only).
- Not be bonded.
- Not be less than 18 years and not more than 26 years by 30 March 2025 (Applicable to Regular Cadets Only).
- Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces standards.
- Must pass the Pre-Joining Fitness Test.
- Be of minimum height of 1 .68m (5’6″) for males and 1.60m (5’2″) for females.
- For Military Police only; the minimum height for male applicants should be 1.75m (5’9″) and 1.70m (5’7″) for females. Must have: (1) BECE. Six (6) Credits at BECE including English and Mathematics. (2) WASSCE. Six (6) Credits (not less than C6) including Core English, Core Mathematics and Core Science. Or (3) SSSCE. Six (6) Credits (not less than D) including Core English, Core Mathematics and Core Science. Or (4) GCE ‘O’ & ‘A’ Levels. Five (5) Credits (not less than 6) including English Language and Mathematics at GCE ‘O’ Level and not less than D in three subjects and General Paper at GCE ‘A’ Level. (5) Must have a minimum of First Degree not below Second Class Lower. (NB. Transcripts and Attestations will not be accepted).
Ghana Army Recruitment Requirements

Certification in Ammunition Technology/Explosive Ordnance Disposal Level 3 will be an added advantage.
Education Corps
- In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognized University/Institution in Language Translation/Interpretation in French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, German and Chinese.
Band
- In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower in Music from a recognized University/Institution. Applicants must also: a. Have appreciable knowledge in Composition/Orchestration. b. Be able to play at least one musical instrument. c. Be able to translate and transcribe music.
Catering School
Catering School. In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must have a First Degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognised University/Institution in any of the following: a. Bachelor of Education (Home Economics) – University of Cape Coast. b. Bachelor of Hospitality Management (GIMPA). c. Bachelor of Technology in Hospitality Management (Technical Universities). d. Bachelor of Catering and Hospitality in Education (University of Education Winneba).
Health Services Administrators
- In addition to general eligibility requirements, applicant must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration (Health Services Option) from an accredited institution and must have completed the mandatory national service/Housemanship as a Health Services Administrator.
Sonographers
- In addition to general eligibility requirements, applicant must have a BSc degree in Sonography from an accredited institution with a permanent registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
Respiratory Therapists
- In addition to general eligibility requirements, applicant must have a BSc degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution with a permanent registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
Biomedical Scientists
- In addition to general eligibility requirements, applicant must have a BSc degree in Medical Laboratory Science/BSc Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution with a permanent registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
Radiographers
- In addition to general eligibility requirements, applicant must have a BSc degree in Radiography from an accredited institution with a permanent registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
Certified Registered Anaesthetists (CRA)
- Applicant must have a BSc degree in Anesthesia from an accredited institution with a permanent registration with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana).
Public Health Officers (Environmental)
- Applicant must have a BSc degree in Public Health (Environmental Health) from an accredited institution with a permanent registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
Dental Technologists
- Applicant must have a BSc degree in Dental Technology from an accredited institution with a permanent registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.

Short Service Commission Recruitment Requirements
Army/Navy/Air Force
Engineer Corps
- In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must not be more than 30 years by 30 January 2026 and must have any of the following: a. Civil Engineering with Masters in Sewage Engineering. b. Mechanical Engineering with Masters in Building Services. c. Civil Engineering with Masters in Structural Engineering. d. MSc/MBA in Project Management with First Degree in any Building Environment Discipline. e. Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years work experience in the relevant field of application and must be registered member of GHIE or requisite Professional body. Applicants must have good standing with a practicing Licence and Certificate from the regulating Professional Body.
Supply Branch (Air Force Only)
- In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must have a Masters Degree from a recognized University/institution in any of the following: a. Accounting. b. Finance. c. Marketing. d. Procurement. e. Commerce. f. Economics. g. Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Medical and Dental Specialists
- In addition to general eligibility requirements, applicant must not be more 40 years of age for Medical and Dental Specialist and must have all of the following: a. MB ChB/BDS or its equivalent from an accredited institution. b. Relevant post-graduate qualification to the level of Membership/Fellowship or its equivalent from an accredited College. c. Permanent registration with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana) and be in good standing.
Medical Officers and Dental Surgeons.
- In addition to general eligibility requirements, applicant must not be more 35 years of age and must have all of the following: a. MB ChB/BDS degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. b. Permanent registration with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana) and in good standing. c. At least one (1) year post-permanent registration work experience.
Nursing Officers
- In addition to general eligibility requirements, applicant must have a BSc degree in Nursing from an accredited institution with a permanent registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.
Specialized/Specialist Nurses
- In addition to general eligibility requirements, applicant must not be more 35 years of age and must have all of the following: a. BSc degree/Membership in any of the following specialties: Critical Care, ENT, Peri-Operative, Emergency Care, Paediatrics, Ophthalmic Nursing, Nephrology Nursing and other specialties. b. At least one (1) year post-permanent registration working experience in a recognized health facility. c. Must be in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana.
Midwifery Officers
- Applicant must have either: a. BSc degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution with at least two (2) years post-permanent registration work experience or b. BSc degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution and a Diploma in Midwifery (RM) with at least one (1) year post-permanent registration work experience and must be in good standing with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Ghana.
Certified Registered Anaesthetists (CRA).
- Applicant must have a BSc degree in Anaesthesia and an Advanced Diploma in Nurse Anaesthesia with at least one (1) year work experience post-permanent registration. Must be in good standing with the appropriate Regulatory body.
Physician Assistants (Medical)
- Applicant must have a BSc degree and an Advanced Diploma in Physician Assistantship from an accredited institution with at least one (1) year working experience in an accredited health facility. Applicant must have a permanent registration with the Medical and Dental Council (Ghana) and be in good standing.
Chaplains (Army/Navy/Air Force)
- In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must not be more than 35 years of age by 30 January 2026 and have the following: a. First Degree not below Second Class Lower (BA) in Theology or Religion from a recognised University/Theological Seminary/College. b. An ordained Minister of the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian, Evangelical Presbyterian, SDA and the Church of Pentecost and be recommended for commissioning into the Ghana Armed Forces by the Head of the Church. c. A minimum of four (4) years pastoral working and probation/internship experience including two (2) years post ordination service in the pastoral field. d. Ability to speak English and at least one of the main Ghanaian languages fluently.
Imam
- In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must not be more than 35 years of age by 30 January 2026 and have the following: a. First Degree not below Second Class Lower in Islamic Theology (Religion) from a recognized University, Islamic Institution or College. b. An Alim Phedeen (Islamic Theologian). c. Fluent in both spoken Arabic and English Languages. d. Ability to read and write good Arabic and English Languages. e. Practised as Imam for four (4) years and be recognized by a recognised Islamic Religious Institution/Body in Ghana ie. The Office of the National Chief Imam, the Ghana Muslim Mission, the Muslim Representative Council, the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Islamic Research and the Ahmadiya Muslim Mission. f. Recommended for commissioning into the Ghana Armed Forces by the Head of a recognized Islamic body in Ghana.

- Acquire an Electronic Voucher at THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY GHANA CEDIS (GH₵350.00) from the following designated Post Offices: Designated Post Offices
- Log on to the recruitment portal at http://apply.mil.gh
- Read through the entry requirements thoroughly.
- Click on the Apply Now Tab to open the applicant authentication page.
- Enter your card Serial Number, PIN code and and select your preferred Arm of Service, type of commission and click “Submit”.
- Enter your personal details and take note of the following from pages 1 to 3:
- a. Page 1. Select your desired vacancy and provide all other required data.
- b. Page 2. Upload a scanned copy of your passport-sized photograph of dimension (200 x 180 pixels), enter a valid e-mail address, personal mobile phone number in this format (233244123456) and enter any other required data.
- c. Page 3. Enter the results of only the three required core subjects on your WASSCE/SSCE results slip, that is; CORE MATHEMATICS AND CORE ENGLISH. Enter your WASSCE or SSSCE Index number, WASSCE or SSSCE results slip Serial Number and select a Tertiary Institution from the list of schools. Enter your graduating GPA/CWA and provide all other required data. Upload only scanned copies of the following; WASSCE or SSSCE Results Slip and First Degree/Certificate (Degree). NB: Each scanned document (Passport picture, WASSCE or SSSCE Results Slip, First Degree/Certificate) to be uploaded, should not exceed 1 (One) Megabyte and should be in JPEG picture format only.

- Click on the submit button and expect an instant e-mail and text message, which includes your unique system generated Identification Number.
- Print and keep a copy of the generated report as you will be required to present it, if you are shortlisted.
