About Government Salary Increase

The Salary Increment is a mandated provision within the Salary Standardization Law (SSL) 2024, also referred to as the Salary Standardization Law VI. This legislation encompasses annual salary enhancements and additional benefits for government personnel in the Philippines, spanning from January 1, 2024, to 2027.
The Salary Increment chart outlines various components, such as the core salary for each salary grade and step, allowances, benefits, and incentives based on performance.
This Salary Increment framework is designed to enhance efficiency and accountability among employees while removing the need for individual salary discussions with supervisors.

Who is Eligible for the Government Salary Increase

The salary increases specified in the Salary Standardization Law apply universally to all civilian government workers, without regard to their employment status (be it regular, contractual, or casual) or whether they are engaged in full-time or part-time work. This encompasses individuals in various branches of the government, including the executive, legislative, and judicial sectors, as well as those employed in Constitutional Commissions, other Constitutional Offices, and Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) not covered by Republic Act 10149.

Government Salary Increase Table Guidelines

The rates mentioned in the aforementioned Salary Schedule apply to the monthly compensation of both regular and contractual personnel, irrespective of whether they hold appointive or elective positions and are engaged in full-time work. Part-time workers will receive compensation proportionate to the services they provide. In contrast, casual personnel will be remunerated on a daily wage basis, which is calculated by dividing the corresponding monthly salary rate from the provided schedule by twenty-two (22) working days.
Section 8. Salary Adjustment for Personnel of Local Government Units (LGUs): The revised Salary Schedule described here may be extended to LGU personnel, provided they adhere to the budget constraints outlined in the Personnel Services (PS) sections of Republic Act No. 7160, specifically Sections 325 and 331. Additionally, authorization from the Sanggunian, as stipulated in Sections 447(a), 458(a), and 465(a) of Republic Act No. 7160, is necessary.
During the implementation of these salary increases, LGUs must ensure compliance with the following: (a) LGU personnel salaries must align with the LGU’s income classification and should not exceed the specified percentage in the Salary Schedule detailed in Section 7.
