No Ghana Card To Bank Account Linkage, No Withdrawal
Head of Financial Stability at the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Joseph France, has stated that customers cannot withdraw their funds from banks if they have not linked their Ghana cards to their bank accounts.
This is as made known in an interview on JoyNews’ PM Express Business Edition.

No Ghana Card-Bank Account linkage, No Withdrawal
Dr. Joseph France stated that accounts without the Ghana card linkage can, however, receive deposits. He further stated that customers can link their Ghana card to their bank accounts anytime they wish as the exercise is not time bound.
He made this known with the following statements:
- “The position is that you cannot transact banking, you cannot be involved in banking activity from July 1. And so what it means is that you cannot go and withdraw money from your bank if you haven’t linked your Ghana card to your account“
- “However, there is no expiry date to when you can do so. So there’s an expiry date to when you can transact business, but there’s no expiry date to when you can link your account to your Ghana card. So you go tomorrow, you want to withdraw from your account, if you haven’t linked your account to your Ghana card, you won’t be able to withdraw, but you’d have the opportunity to link your Ghana card to your account then you withdraw“

EOCO Warning
- The Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) has also cautioned Ghanaians to be careful whiles linking their Ghana cards with their bank accounts as fraudsters have taken advantage of the exercise.
- It noted that fraudulent messages have been sent to individuals requesting them to click on links to update their records.
- Some Ghanaians were also asked to provide their bank account names, mobile numbers, mobile app PINs, one time password in order to update their records.
- EOCO has advised the public to not click on any link purporting to be emanating from their respective bank unless the banks confirm it.
Is it annoying and fedup under this economy.Just look at we the nurses who wrote our final licensed exams in MARCH 2020 Are still at house and our juniors colluages has been posted. WHY???. Because of bribery and corruption.HMMM.
Hmmm I don’t know what to say to our leaders. Someone has no so called Ghana card and now you’re saying no Ghana card no withdrawal but deposits are allowed. Is this saying logic at all, someone has pursue this so called Ghana card for years without getting it and you fix a date that if the person doesn’t link his or her card, that person should make any withdrawals but able to make deposits. In the process of making so called Ghana card, prisoners where exempted not taken them into consideration that they might come back one and they accounts to withdraw from but voter’s ID was issued to them to vote. Nonsense!!! So far as you need their vote do to what you do to the general public. No one wish to be there but due to some circumstances. They are our family that’s our fathers, uncles, aunts, mothers, brothers and sisters. They need Ghana cards as you need their votes thanks
Sorry to say Ghana leaders are the JOKE its self not jokers. No wonder they are heading to the IMF. How NIA (Government) hold back a card an innocent Ghanaian has paid for by their incompetence and lack of logistics. Then you the same Government the very you have deliberately withheld from me you promised to give same to me let say 20/07/22 but then in another breath you tell me if I don’t have the card as at 01/07/22 you will deny me access to my money at the bank. Are you normal? Then why don’t you release the card before 01/07/22
