UCC Distance Education Admission Detailed Application Procedures: How To Apply

Applicants can make enquiries about the Sale of Application Forms or submit their completed online application forms at the Regional Study Centres of the College of Distance Education,University of Cape Coast:

1. To begin the UCC Admission Application Procedures, Visit the official UCC Portal : https://apply.ucc.edu.gh/.
2. Then Click on your related mode of study on the page by choosing from the options of either Regular Programmes/Graduate Distance Application, Undergraduate Distance Learning Programmes Application, Sandwich Programmes Application or Institute of Education (Sandwich) Programmes Application.
3. Afterwards, you will be redirected to the login page
4. On the login page Select Application Level which is either Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor, etc.
5. Then Select the Application Type which either Post WASSCE First Degree, Regular Graduate Studies, First Degree (Mature Entry) , Distance, etc.
6. Then enter your serial number and pin on the evoucher card you purchased. ( keep the card safe for subsequent login)
7. Then Click the “I have carefully read all instructions”
8. Afterwards Click the login button to begin filling the Online UCC admission application form in stages
9. Then Fill the Application form and attach all required documents and passport picture ( must be JPG or JPEG format and not exceed 20KB )
10. After filling the Online UCC admission application form, Click ‘Preview’ or ‘Accept’ button to either preview the details you entered or accept them.
11. You can as well Click on the ‘Edit button’ to make changes to your application or Click the ‘Save and Continue later button’ to save your application form to return later to continue the application.
12. If you are satisfied with all details you have provided, Click ‘Submit and Print Confirmation’ to submit the online application form
13. Afterwards, Click the ‘Print’ button to Print your Confirmation Page / filled online application form.
14. Dont forget to keep the card safe for subsequent login, Keep your printed Confirmation Page safe as You will require your Reference Number shown on the page to check your admission status and print your admission letter.
15. After printing the Confirmation Page / filled online application form, click on the “Log out” button.
16. Each Applicant is required to print a copy of his/her confirmation page, attach his/her results slip(s) and any other documents deemed important and forward them by post to The Deputy Registrar, Division of Academic Affairs, University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast.
17. Quoting application reference number, names in full without abbreviations, address, study/examination centre, region, contact number (vii). programme which should be handwritten on the EMS envelop. Applicants can also submit to the nearest College of Distance Education Study Centre.

UCC DECE, DPE, DJHSE, 3 yr. Dip. In Maths And Science Minimum Requirements For WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants

1. The Minimum Admission Requirements into the University of Cape Coast is aggregate 36 for WASSCE applicants and aggregate 24 For SSSCE applicants.
2. WASSCE Or SSSCE applicants must have credit passes in six (5) subjects with overall aggregate not more than aggregate 36 for WASSCE and not more than aggregate 24 for SSSCE.
3. Three of the Five subjects must be core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies and three must be in relevant electives.
4. For purposes of admission, a credit pass in WASSCE means A1 – C6 and a credit pass in SSSCE means A – D.

Applicants for 3-YEAR DIPLOMA IN COMMERCE (ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE OPTION) must possess any one of the following:

1. Professional Accountancy Certificate with a minimum of Part 1 of either:

1. 1. Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana),
   2. Chartered Institute of Management Accountants,
   3. Association of Certified Chartered Accountants,
   4. Institute of Bankers,
   5. Ghana Accounting Technicians Examination (GAT) and Accounting Technicians Scheme West Africa (ATSWA).
   6. In addition to the above, applicants should possess passes in Mathematics and English.
2. WASSCE minimum pass grade (A1-C6) in five (5) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus 2 elective subjects including Accounting or strong mathematics – related elective.
3. SSSCE minimum pass grade (A1-C6)(A-D) in five (5) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus 2 elective subjects including Accounting or strong mathematics – related elective.
4. General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) and RSA Stage II with a minimum grade D in 5 subjects including Accounting, Business Management, English Language and Mathematics.

UCC Distance Education Admission Through MATURE CANDIDATES’ Examination

Applicants who do not meet the specified requirements for Direct Entry into the above distance learning programmes can gain admission to the programme by passing a Mature Entrance Examination (MEE) to be organized between 13th February 2019 to 5th May 2020 (Saturdays and Sundays only) and 20th April 2020 to 5th May 2020 (Stay-In mode) at selected Study Centres. Applicants can choose the weekend mode or the Stay-In mode.

UCC Minimum Requirements For Mature Applicants / Candidates Admission

Applicants seeking admission as Mature Candidates must possess any one of the following:

1. Minimum of WASSCE/SSSCE (D7, E8 or E) or G.C.E. ‘O’ Level Certificate
2. NVTI Certificate
3. Holders of NABPTEX Certificate or Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) Certificate awarded by the Technical Examination Unit of GES.
4. Applicants should have a background in the preferred programme.
5. Should be at least 25 years old by 30th April, 2020.
6. Applicants should attach copies of birth certificates that are at least five years old at the time of the application.
7. Applicants who do not have credit passes in English and Mathematics at either WASSCE/SSSCE or G.C.E. ‘O’ Level would be required to register for and pass examinations in those subjects.
