About CSSPS Self Placement 

• The CSSPS Self Placement, is a system introduced by GES to place qualified BECE graduates who were not automatically placed into their preferred choices, to place themselves into available second cycle institutions namely the Senior High School (SHS) and the Technical and Vocational Institutes.
• GES describes Self-placement as the manual process that allows candidates who do not get any of their choices an opportunity to select among the available schools with vacancies.
• To do the self-placement, you need an e-voucher, you can purchase this from the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) website. The e-voucher for checking the Senior High School (SHS) placement can be purchased on the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) website as well as vendors authorized by the Ghana Education Service (GES). The e-voucher can be used unlimited number of times when you purchase it.

How CSSPS Placement Works

• The automatic placement system of the CSSPS automatically places students into one of the five Secondary schools which they chose during the Basic Education Certificate Education (BECE) registration process. Strictly Based on the students’ performance.
• However not all candidates are placed automatically under the CSSPS automatic placement system. Students who did not get any of the five selected schools during the BECE registration process due to inadequate performance or not meeting the other factors stated above are to do a “Self Placement”.

1. First visit the CSSPS homepage: cssps.org or cssps.gov.gh.
2. Follow the instructions on the page to make payment by choosing your mobile wallet and make a payment for your e-voucher.
3. You will get the voucher code with which you can check for placement or do the self placement

How To Do CSSPS Self Placement Online

1. First visit CSSPS website at cssps.org or cssps.gov.gh
2. Then click on check placement module on the page to continue the process
3. Proceed to provide your e-voucher PIN and Index Number (i.e after successful purchase in the steps above) and click on enter.
4. You will be automatically redirected to the self-placement module. where, you will be provided with a selection of schools to pick from based on your aggregate.
5. Then Choose your desired school as well as your residential preference (day/boarding).
6. Finally, click on Confirm and print the form.

The Self Placement Process

1. Start by logging into the CSSPS Self placement system using your index number.
2. Then choose your residential preference i.e day or boarding
3. If you choose boarding, all schools with boarding vacancies will be displayed.
4. If you select day, all schools with day vacancies will be displayed as follows: a) Day within catchment area b) Day outside catchment area
5. Note that Day within catchment area option displays only schools with Day vacancies within 16km of the J.H.S the you attended whiles Day outside catchment area displays all schools with day vacancies.
6. In order to get the ‘Day outside catchment area’ , you must confirm again if you intend to attend a school outside catchment area as a day student.
7. Afterwards, select your Program of choice.
8. After successfully going through this process, you must print the Placement form and proceed to the school enrollment.
