Electoral Commission (EC) Sets Date For Compilation Of New Register
The Electoral Commission wishes to announce for the information of the general public that the compilation of a New Voters Register will begin on 30th June, 2020 at all designated registration centers and district offices of the Commission throughout the country from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm each day.
All Ghanaian citizens, 18years old and above and of sound mind are expected to register in the electoral areas where they reside or are ordinarily resident and must also not be prohibited from registering by any law in force.
The Commission wishes to reiterate that safety measures, including the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and hand sanitizers as well as the compulsory wearing of cask masks by all, have been put in place at all designated registration centers throughout the country to protect applicants from contracting the COVID-19 virus.
All applicants will be notified of the movement plans of the registration teams through public announcements, since the cluster system of registration will be used.
Security will be provided by the security agencies at all registration centers to protect lives and properties during the exercise.
The Commission wishes to appeal to all stakeholders to assist in making the registration exercise successful.
