About Linking Your TIN To Your Ghana Card

To ensure a smooth roll-out of this initiative, the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) together with the National Identification Authority (NIA) has instituted the following measures:

 

NIA Ghana Card Registration Centers

  1. Registration officials of the National Identification Authority (NIA)are currently stationed at 14 GRA offices across the country to register individuals who do not possess a Ghana card. The Registration Officials will be at the following GRA/RGD offices:
  • TIN Centre, Registrar-General’s Department, Accra.
  • TIN Centre, Customs Long Room, Tema.
  • Taxpayer Service Centre, Spintex Road.
  • Taxpayer Service Centre, Adabraka.
  • Taxpayer Service Centre 1, Tema.
  • Taxpayer Service Centre, Koforidua.
  • Taxpayer Service Centre, Cape Coast.
  • Taxpayer Service centre, Takoradi.
  • Taxpayer Service Centre, Asokwa.
  • Taxpayer Service Centre, Sunyani.
  • Taxpayer Service Centre, Ho.
  • Taxpayer Service Centre, Bolgatanga.
  • Taxpayer Service Centre, Wa.

Registration officials of the National Identification Authority (NIA) will eventually be stationed at 63 other GRA locations to serve all taxpayers.

  1. There will be a transition period from Thursday, April 1, 2021 to Friday, December 31, 2021 where both the TINandGhana Card PIN may be used simultaneously as the unique number for tax identification purposes. After this period, it is expected that all existing TINs will be replaced with the Ghana Card PIN.
  2. A Sell-Service portal has been made available on the GRA website (www.gra.gov.gh) for existing taxpayers who have registered and have been issued with Ghana card to link their Ghana card PIN to their TIN.4. Any taxpayer with a Ghana card must present it at any GRA office to be registered as a taxpayer

NOTE: For transactions such as the filing of returns, payment of taxes, clearing of goods, registering of businesses, the Ghana card PIN should be quoted on the documentation Application Forms.

 

How To Link Your TIN To Your Ghana Card

STEPS IN LINKING YOUR TIN TO YOUR GHANA CARD

  1. First visit https://myid.gra.gov.gh/ to log on to the official GRA portal.
  2. Then Enter your Tax Identification Number (TIN). E.g. P004826485626.
  3. Afterwards Enter your TIN and your Ghana Card PIN.
  4. NOTE thatThe Ghana Card ID has been indicated as PIN on the portal. Your Ghana PIN is usually written at the back of the card as GHA-273548264-6.
  5. Then Enter a valid Email and Phone Number.
  6. Afterwards Click on ‘SEND OTP’.
  7. Then Check your mail inbox to get a 6-digit code sent to you by GRA.
  8. Afterwards Enter code in the OTP box.
  9. Then Proceed to link your TIN to your Ghana card.

 

How To Check NIA Ghana Card Linking Status

After going through the process, you can check out your linking status by following these procedures

  1. First visit https://myid.gra.gov.gh/
  2. Enter your TIN and your Ghana card PIN (NOTE: The Ghana Card ID has been indicated as PIN on the portal. Your Ghana PIN is usually written at the back of the card as GHA-273548264-6.
  3. Enter a valid email address and your  contact.
  4. Click on ‘SEND OTP’.
  5. Check your mail inbox to get a 6-digit code sent to you by GRA.
  6. Enter code in the OTP box and press view status.

  2. please i find it difficult in linking my cards, when i try the system tells me that my ghana card is invalid. Please any assistance
