About Nigeria Police Force (NPF)

The Nigeria Police Force is the principal law enforcement agency in Nigeria. It has staff deployment across the 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The command and control of the Nigeria Police Force is under the Inspector General of Police. For administrative ease, the Force is divided into Eight (8) administrative departments, viz.

The command and control of the Nigeria Police Force are under the Inspector General of Police. For administrative ease, the Force is divided into seven (7) administrative departments, viz. Finance and Administration; Operations; Logistics; Force Criminal Investigation Department; Training; Research and Planning; and Information and Communication Technology, each headed by a Deputy Inspector General of Police.

The Force is further divided into 12 operational Zonal Commands (usually comprising between two and four State Commands) and 37 State Commands including the FCT (usually comprising Area Commands which further comprises Divisions).

While the zone is headed by an Assistant Inspector-General of Police, the State Command is headed by a Commissioner of Police, the Area Command by an Assistant Commissioner of Police, and the Division by any officer in the Superintendent Cadre.

Nigeria Police Recruitment Requirements

  • You must be a citizen of Nigeria
  • Applicants should be between the ages of 17 to 25 years
  • Applicants should possess “a minimum of five credits, including English and Mathematics, in WASSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB”.
  • Applicants should be medical, physical, and psychologically fit and must not be less than 1.67m tall for male and 1.64m tall for female.
  • Female applicants should not be pregnant at the time of the recruitment.
  • All applicants should possess a valid identity card. It can be your driving license, voter’s card, or international passport.
  • Applicants should have passed English and Mathematics.
  • Advanced Level (A level), Ordinary National Diploma (OND), National Certificate in Education (NCE) or their equivalents is required for Cadet Inspectors.
  • Applicants should have University degree or a Higher National Diploma (HND).

How to Apply for Nigeria police recruitment

  • To apply for NPF Recruitment, first access the Nigeria police recruitment portal at www.policerecruitment.gov.ng
  • Then complete the NPF Recruitment registration form.
  • Be sure to provided all the necessary documents required for the position you wish to apply.
  • Afterwards Submit and print out your acknowledgment slip.
  • Upon successful submission of the NPF Recruitment registration form, you will receive a confirmation message on your email.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted through Email/SMS.
  • Any false information will lead to automatic disqualification.

 

How to Update your Records for NPF Recruitment 

  • Then Enter your National Identity Number (NIN) in the space provided
  • Afterwards Supply your required details of update your record
  • Then Upload scanned copies of the following:
    • O’Level Results
    • Birth Certificate / Declaration of Age
    • Certificate of Origin
  • Afterwards Check the consent box and click submit
  • Then Print confirmation slip and take note of your Application Reference ID
  • Finally Download and print Guarantor’s form.
