- The Ghana Meteorological Agency – GMet seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons into the under-mentioned position to provide leadership, technical and operational direction in the dispensation of the mandate of the Agency.
Recruitment Of Principal Legal Officer
Job Responsibilities
• Provides legal advice on the operations of GMet
• Liaises with the Attorney-General’s department and other stakeholders for the preparation and review of legal documents relating to GMet’s mandate
• Represents GMet on matters that may be brought before the courts of law
• Provides dispute resolution services for GMet
• Collaborates with other Directorates of the Agency to ensure compliance with laws, rules and regulations
• Prepares and submits relevant periodic and annual reports and Provides inputs for the preparation of the annual budget
Job Qualifications
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution
• Must have been called to the Ghana Bar (Barrister-at-Law)
• A minimum of nine (9) years post-call relevant work experience, three (3) years of which should be in a senior management position in a reputable organisation
• Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by the GMet Board in collaboration with the Public Services Commission

Recruitment Of Deputy Director-General (Support Services)
Job Responsibilities
• Exercises managerial oversight for human resource, finance and administrative activities of GMet Leads the preparation and implementation of the annual budget of GMet Leads in the preparation and implementation of plans, programmes and projects of the division
• Coordinates plans to ensure the availability of resources (human, materials and finances) to support the activities of GMet Coordinates the development and implementation of policies related to general services of GMet Submits reports on the activities of the division
• Designs and maintains reliable internal control systems to safeguard GMet’s resources
• Designs frameworks for partnerships with Public and Private sector stakeholders
Job Qualifications
• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Management, Administration, Social Sciences or any related discipline
• A minimum of twelve (12) years post qualification relevant work experience, five (5) of which should be in Senior Management Position
• Must pass a prescribed interview conducted by the Public Services Commission in consultation with GMet Board

Recruitment Of Deputy Director-General (Operations)
Job Responsibilities
• Ensures the provision of reliable, timely and relevant weather information and forecast
• Exercises oversight responsibility for the engineering and technical support services of GMet
• Ensures that research and product development activities of GMet are effectively carried out
• Ensures the establishment of a network of observing stations and the processing of data Manages the technical operations of GMet
• Coordinates the activities of the Directorates responsible for Research and Applied Meteorology, Synoptic Meteorology & Forecasting, Basic Network and Data • Engineering & Technical Services and the Regions
• Provides inputs towards the preparation of the budget
Job Qualification
• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Meteorology or its equivalent in a related field from a recognised tertiary institution
• A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant post qualification work experience, five (5) of which must be in a senior management position
• A PhD qualification in a relevant field would be an added advantage
• Must pass a prescribed interview conducted by the Public Services Commission in consultation with GMet Board
