In an interview with the Deputy Director General of GES, Dr. Kwabena B. Tandoh (KB Tandoh) stated the reason university graduates have a little number in the space of GES recruitment. This was made known on Joy Prime’s Beyond the Headlines show with host Daniel Dadzie. The following were his explanations:
According to him, the number of teachers( trained and university graduates) to be recruited comes along with the financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance. This was made known with the following statement:
“Financial clearance is specific in terms of recruitment, about 16,500 is for college of education graduates, we also have 6,500 university graduates to be recruited”
Dr. Tandoh added that the portal will be opened for university graduates to apply, hence you should look out for Job announcements anytime soon.
He further stated that by December 31st, the recruitment of university graduates who had completed the one-year mandatory National Service and passed the licensure examination will be recruited.
Mr. Tandoh stated that his office is working tirelessly to ensure that 6,000 university graduates are recruited before the end of December, because the financial clearance demands that it employs before the said deadline. This was made made known with the following statement:
“Our hope is that we recruit the 6,000 university graduates before the end of December 31, because our financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance is to ensure that we employ before December 31st.”
He further advised university graduates seeking to be employed into GES to pay attention to job announcements put out by the GES in terms of what criteria the financial clearance is allowed to be recruited.
