University Graduates and Non Teaching Staff To Be Recruited By End Of The Year – GES Director-General

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has begun the process to recruit 16,500 trained teachers who completed the colleges of education.

This comes after the recruitment of the 2017/2018 college of education year batch and commencement of the recruitment of the 2019 college of education year batch this year. Interested successful candidates are to apply for recruitment to work where their services were needed.

The Director-General of the GES, Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, briefed the Daily Graphic yesterday on this and asked interested applicants to access the GES official website: www.gespromotions.gov.gh, to complete online application forms and upload all valid certificates before October 30th. The GES was expected to recruit about 93,724 teachers by the close of the year. This should calm the nerves of those asking when will GES recruit University Graduates (Graduate Trained Teachers) And Non Teaching Staff.

Recruitment Of University Graduates (Graduate Trained Teachers) And Non Teaching Staff

 

Speaking on the issue that unemployed graduate teachers from the various universities were planning to hold a peaceful demonstration, the director-general Prof. Opoku-Amankwa assured that they had been factored into the recruitment process this year.

He stated that after recruiting the colleges of education graduates, the “the next batch will be those from the universities and so they should not be worried”.

He stated that immediately after the current batch had been recruited, the next group would be those who did Education in the various universities who have the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) and completed the mandatory national service. He assured that all the recruitments would be done before the end of the year. This was made known with the following statement:

 

“The graduate trained teachers  will be considered for recruitment into the GES to teach in senior high schools (SHS), the third batch of recruitment will be the non-teaching category,”

  4. What about the train graduates with Basic and Early childhood education, are they going to post all of us or only those who will teach at SHS?
