The Ghana Education Service is set to open the portal for the employment of staff into the GES.

An estimated forty thousand and ninety-three (40,093) Ghanaians are to be recruited into the Ghana Education Service (GES) starting this November.

About GES Recruitment

This is as made known by the Deputy Minister of Finance Hon. Abena Asare Osei at a meeting with the leadership of Newly Trained Teachers Forum (NTTF), on 21st October, to explain the reason behind the delay in issuing financial clearance to recruit Newly Trained Teachers.

The Deputy Minister of Finance Hon. Abena Asare Osei stated that, the Ministry of Education has presented a total of 40,093 people to be recruited into the Ghana Education Service (GES) which is more than the previous years’ figures and they will include Teaching and Non Teaching staff from the forty-six (46) Accredited Public Colleges of Education and University graduates.

The Ministry of Finance is making provisions to include all the said categories hence the delay in the recruitment process. She reassured the Newly Trained Teachers Forum Executives that all qualified teachers will be employed, financial clearance will be issued in November for the processing for New Qualified Teachers.

The deputy minister of finance, Hon. Abena Asare Osei has assured the NTTF Executives that NQT will be employed within this year. As Financial clearance will be issued in November and the process for NQTs recruitment will officially commence. All NQT are therefore to exercise patient as they do the necessary arrangements for the portal to be opened.
